Overview
Welcome to review for Fire HD 10 2019 edition! I have been using this tablet for a few weeks now. Out of the box it also comes with USB-C cable, 9W power adapter and some documentation. The tablet also comes with a limited 1 year warranty in the US. I purchased the version “with special offers”, which means there are advertisements in the lock screen. In the US you can pay one-time fee of $15 in the US to remove these advertisements.

Exteriors
The tablet is well built but the chassis does not look or feel premium by any means. It comes with a USB-C charging port. It also has regular headphone jack. It has a 2 MP front and rear camera. It has a nice 10.1” full HD display screen. It has the volume rockers button. The power button. It also has a microSD slot to extend the space in the tablet by 512 GB.
My Experience
I mainly purchased this tablet for reading e-books. I considered Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis but I wanted to be able to do few other things in the larger screen such as watching Youtube videos, browsing and playing music. I also did not see myself reading outdoors with lot of sunlight. I do admit that while reading at night, it would have been nice to have less glare on the Fire HD 10 screen. The tablets out of the box comes with Fire OS which is built on top of Android. You can only download the Fire tablet Apps available in the Amazon App store. The tablet comes loaded with all apps for Amazon services. There is a work around to install Google Play store to download apps not available in Amazon App Store. Surprisingly, I found many important apps available in Amazon App store, even Zoom app, which seems to be a necessity in the age of COVID-10. However, I ended up side loading the Google App store as I missed One Note, Google Apps etc. I would advise against loading too many apps as it could slow down the tablet. The tablet comes with 2 GB RAM only.
I love that the tablet has blue shade settings. I love reading at night before going to bed. The blue shade eliminates the blue light that impacts sleep. I admit that the screen with the blue shade on does look a little weird that any other android phone or Windows laptop I have used. The tablet also has Bluetooth for playing music to Bluetooth speakers or headphones. You can also use a Bluetooth keyboard to pair with the tablet, however, I have not tried it yet.
The battery life seems to be really great. With light reading and surfing, it seems to last for many days. The camera is terrible. I do not understand why they would add cameras but probably they were added for video calls. I took a few photos and they turned out terrible.
I seriously considered Samsung Galaxy tab S6 lite but I dropped it because it was 3x pricier than Fire HD 10. I really like the s-pen and awesome specs. But it is way too costly to justify for my use case.

- Terrible camera
- Missing Google Play store out of box
- Screen is prone to glare
- Modest specs. Not great for gaming
Conclusion
Over all a good tablet for the price, if you are having a light use case. You might want to look at a different tablet, if you are planning to push it to the limit. I would give this tablet 3.5 out of 5.
